There were loads waiting at the special vehicles department at the factory yesterday. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Not to disappoint somebody, but there was one damaged on a transporter going to Gaydon today, along with a new FFRR and a D4 An engine to TDi for!

My dealer rang and said he expects my vehicle to show in their 'stock' this week - not sure entirely what this means.
Apparently the Celebration Edition models are first built as regular Defenders and then head over to SVO for finishing. Does anyone know if there is any 'Special Vehicles' plaque/badging in the engine bay to identify a 'true' vehicle as such? 2016 Defender Adventure 110 2015 Defender Autobiography 90 2016 Defender V8 Classic Works 90 2020 Defender 110 P400 X |

I was told on the lr celebration tour that there would be no sv badges on any of the three final edition models.

I saw one on Monday lunchtime on the back of a transporter heading down the M40 around Gaydon. Looked pretty smart.... but not as smart as the Adventure Edition!

I also saw one on the line yesterday during my tour, which was nice, but the limelight was the 110 Adventure with the Sill protectors. Although I think they are more for looks than use, they certainly look good Craig Rogers

It's really nice to hear more positive feedback around the looks of the Adventure's. They were getting a bit of stick originally!

I can sort of see why it got the stick, but only sort of. Although it looks fantastic, IMO, really fantastic, it's still not really a prep'd Defender for being "Adventurous", it is more for looks, but of course just as capable as any standard Defender.
When it was first publicised, I thought, yes, yes, want, want, please, gimme gimme! Then I stopped and thought about it. I couldn't see myself driving up a scratchy lane in it and would probably never want to add or remove anything from it so would be a waste. This is probably why people don't like it, but to see it in the flesh, it's very nice and if you want a genuine factory built bit of rugged looking bling, yummy! I wonder how long it'll take before the aftermarket companies start making the sill guards. Not really protecting anything unless you had a compressor mounted under there.
