I saw this pop up on my Facebook news feed this morning. Can't believe how low some people are!!!

Is it a good idea for them to posting pictures of these cables? I didn't know by cutting those cables it would disable the alarm...........I do now!!

It won't on yours - MY13 onwards have battery back-up, so cutting the battery negative will cause alarm to sound. My Disco 'best bits'

Trouble is where Llanberis Mountain Rescue team park their vehicles it is just not secure. They park their Defenders in the car park at the side of Vaynol Arms public House based at Nant Perris on the Llanberis Pass road, in the dead of night this road is deserted and the thick stone walls of the Vaynol Arms would muffle any noise. It’s a shame they cannot build some sort of fenced compound with alarms in the place they park up.

Unless the BBUS has been disabled beforehand, of course.

There are many threads on this forum about this vulnerability.

From Llanberis MRT facebook page

Quote:

CCTV Services Ltd
Following the mindless damage that was done to the vehicles of Llanberis Mountain Rescue last week we have been pleased to be able to help by donating a state of the art HD CCTV system to help protect the vehicles and the building.
We would like to thank Transend UK and HikVision for their assistance in contributing towards the cost of the equipment and Visual Verification for remotely monitoring the cameras to help the dedicated volunteers do their job.

Now every security device added to the vehicles will slow the scumbags down but can also slow down the team deploying in the case of an emergency.

I still argue that the big problem is the courts being too soft. Remember Shane Andrew Nelson? His punishment was less severe then a motorist lane hogging on the M62 recently.

I agree about the courts much to soft on some but I think the middle lane hoggers conviction is ODD.

The driver, who was behind the wheel of a Citroen Berlingo van, was stopped by police in West Yorkshire, after persistently refusing to move out of the central lane of the busy M62. Traffic police said six drivers were forced to brake and swerve to overtake the vehicle, which was travelling along the eastbound carriageway near Huddersfield on August 25 last year, he was said to have driven in an “inconsiderate manner” for several miles, causing inconvenience to other road users.

However as the police video shows he was traveling at 60mph in the middle lane. Hardly dawdling was he, and what speed were the drivers who had to swerve doing? £940.00 fine and five penalty points does seem a bit harsh. Also if the M62 was so busy why was the inside lane empty? For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
