I said I'd have to 'say sorry' for having unfaithful thoughts about trading the XS in for an Adventure 90; therefore, true to my word, I sent her off this morning for a pamper day at a local spa...

What's the plan for her? Some light modifications?

Local isn't actually correct, hence the trailer; however, the transport company have been great and had the Def where it needed to be first thing this morning and I've just had a text saying they are on their way back. I'll post some photos up when I can but I'm excited to see the result and shouldn't have too long to wait. ![]() |

you have a transport company that uses a Range Rover for its towing needs? Flippin' eck!
![]() Next you'll be telling me you're having flown back by Chinook ![]() |

Barney, I've been watching your modification-frenzy with envy!
If I waited until I had a free day, you'd be even further down your journey to completely change your Defender and I'd still have my bone stock 90! ![]() Chinook on the way back would have been brilliant - imagine the neighbours when it was dropped into my driveway ![]() Both the transport company and the Defender 'spa' have been top draw; so hats off to them both for turning it around in one day. Pretty impressive when you consider the 90 has traveled nearly 400 miles today without turning a wheel. |

Reminds me of this pic. We had a walking holiday in the Breckons in late June. We walked Pen Y Fan (only a week or so before those two people were killed by lightening!) and the National Trust were having a builders merchant delivery of dump bags of gravel to renew the paths. The copter was back and forth dropping bags for hours! Cool job! ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Just arrived back - a huge thanks to the transportation company, who were excellent: true professionals and to Jon at Bowler, who ensured the Defender was in and out within the day.
A couple of quick photos before I loose the light: ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge I'm looking forward to giving it a good run tomorrow. I'm also pretty certain that I'll be removing the XS side steps; Bowler did offer to remove them but I hadn't realised how far the replacement side sills stuck out, so I opted to keep them in place (namely because some people who have ridden in my 90 have found them useful when climbing in or out). However, imho, they don't work well together (the side sill overhang almost negates the benefit of the step), so they'll probably end up with the other take off parts in the roof of my garage! Really happy with how it has turned out and can't wait to get behind the wheel. |
