The two bolts that go into the door on each hinge need a 13mm spanner on the back but the ones in the a/b posts have captive nuts. Ray

Hello discomog
I don't think the Defender has changed in this area for some time now on my MY 2011 (2.4 Puma) Front Door Hinge M8 Screws are retained by... Captive Nuts Bulkhead Side... (photo below is of the JLR OEM Captive Nuts but to answer your question Loose Nuts (will need Spanner) Door Card Side... Although you can get on these without fully removing the Door Card...Just JLR OEM Door Hinge Bulkhead M8 Captive Nuts SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

You should be able to get a slim spanner in from the side without removing the door card. Jeff

Thanks Jeffersj and others for info. I've had a look (should have done it before!) and have now found a slim open ended spanner that will fit without removing door cards. Cheers.
