OIL PUMP FAILURE 2.2
Hi all having checked on topix (Jaguar LandRovers Diagnostics site)my 2012 90 has been actioned for a new oil pump.
I called my local dealer and yes they verified it is on the system for a new oil pump. Now what concerns me is its not a recall but what they call a oustanding campaing,so they will not send out recall letters as its not a safety issue,So if you do not get your vehicle serviced at a Land Rover dealer you will prob never know untill its too late!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
CHEERS.

Phoned up dealers and mine is up for campaign. But the pain is I've got to take it to them for 10mins so they can get a number which in turn enables them to order the pump. Then book it in for warranty work, and they don't have a courtesy car for a fortnight.

2.2 problem different type/style to 2.4 one ( 2.2 is a viable displacment pump )

Yes, it was an 'improvement' on the 2,2 to make the vehicle greener!

Glad I read this thread! Called the dealer and found my MY12 is due this recall. Thanks for the info!

I do find it a bit disappointing that an issue that might wreck the engine like this doesn't merit LR or the dealer letting me know. Presumably cheaper in the long run to just replace a few siezed engines than make sure every vehicle is fixed. Ah well...
