Remember the date April 1st
The BBC has today confirmed that Piers Morgan will replace disgraced Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson. In light of their very public and long-running feud, which began when Clarkson reportedly punched Morgan in 2004, it seems that Morgan has now dealt the final blow, by taking over the presenting job which Clarkson had built an empire on. It is as yet unconfirmed whether the show’s original co-hosts, Richard Hammond and James May, will continue on as Morgan’s underlings. IMHO, this won't concern Clarkson one iota.
I reckon his two "sidekicks" will stick with him. By the way, no-one should be of the opinion that I approve of Clarkson's behaviour,....because I don't. He got what He deserved. Pickles. |

It looks like they may have picked the new 'team'. Jodie Kidd, Philip Glenister & Guy Martin. Won't be the same, but its got to be a lot better than the Fifth Gear attempt.

It needs to be brilliant or I fear it's media suicide...

Guy Martin is awesome, I have a bit of a man crush on him
No idea about Jodie Kidd but she did do a quick lap didn't she? Phillip Glenister did For The Love of Cars on 4 which I enjoyed, but tbh I preferred Ant Anstead in that! Phillip always seemed a bit aloof and disinterested. |

If true my bet is this just wont work... Jodie Kidd, isn't kidding me that she really knows much, and just hasn't got it when it comes to presenting, the Classic Car Show she co-hosts with Quentin Willson is just too awkward to watch. Phillip Glenister, for the love of... he always looks like he's struggling to come up with the next sentence. Guy Martin, now this is where it get interesting, can he carry the other two and make this work...he is without doubt very watchable, authentic, what you see... and all that, but in my view much better as an individualist or teamed up with a credible partner or team to tackle a challenge. Overall the BBC are probably trying to deal with a situation a bit like the W1A comedy where endless hours are spent in damage limitation meetings... Clarkson definitely over stepped the mark, but what follows may ultimately be seen as one long slow accident. Agree strongly with the point that Jodie Kidd and Quentin was just too embarrassing to watch, totaly spoiled a good idea for a show

Just bury the programme and let it lie is what the BBC should do , no matter who is in the line up the shadow of Top Gear is too vast to let anything else grow in its wake

Heard on BBC radio that Clarkson, Hammond, May, and the Chief producer Andy Wilman (who quit not long after Clarkson was sacked) all had a secret meeting with some Director at the BBC.

Do you not think the Quentin and Jodie show didn't work because of their lack of chemistry and the way the show was produced / edited ?
I've seen her present other things and come across as well. She is certainly a genuine petrol head. |

You lot may have missed the fact that the previous Top Gear team were down at Goodwood a few days ago, The Telegraph got a few pics of them that you can probably still find complete with short story, obviously up to something. Let's hope so 2.2 90 XS
