Hi guys,
This popped across my Faceache feed today and I must say I was very impressed! It would be very interesting to see how well a defender holds up against it. Clearly a F-150 is never going to be as good off road as a Defender and it is not a looker by any means but if I was in the market I would seriously consider one as they do have some fairly impressive specs! What do we think? Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Wouldn't fancy my chances with the corrosion tests, although Zagato did it from new.......

To be honest I think most of these tests would shake my body off its chassis! After all its only really held on by a handful of bolts. Heaven forbid you be inside though you would be clobbered by falling trim
I found the rock test rather interesting though. Looks fairly brutal on the diff but it seamed to put up with it. How many times it would do though we don't know... Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Amazed by how much the rear tub does move on the final test.

the smallest one is the size of a 130!
They tow between 5,000lbs at 12,000lbs for the uprated ones, though most seem to be 7-9,000lbs. Maximum train weight from 9,500-17,000lbs. Curb weight from 4-5,000lbs. You can put 1,500-3,000lbs in the bed, but most are around 1,700-2,300lbs. That seems low to me? Combined fuel economy of around 17-20mpg(US) which I think is about 20-24mpg(imp) from a big petrol engine. Their approach and departure angles are rubbish. But they're big. |
