Found out
At times we are asked to send various items to works address so SWMBO does not find out etc.

One of our customers is worried that he might land up wearing his wedding tackle as ornaments etc.

This evening we have received a couple of emails, now this is not a D2 member but various bits have been censored for various reasons.

First email

Quote:

OMFG!!

THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY!!!

Kind of blows my (xcvbnm......tyuio) spending out of the water!

Second email

Quote:

Take no notice of the last note sent!! .. yours was a surprise invoice as darling husband had ‘forgotten’ to mention ordering it, and the note I wrote was sent to you in error - it was meant for him!

Invoice(s) will be paid ..

All the best,
MRS XYZ (wife)

Now lads and lasses, just be warned, when spending more then your normal weekly pocket money it is a good idea to run it pass your other half as sometimes it is rather hard to keep a straight face whilst saying that little thing has been there ages etc. Otherwise your spending might/will be found out.

We will not be held responsible for any injuries inflicted on any customer by their partner due to their spending with us.

Now what trick do YOU use to get your purchases under the radar?

Brendan

Brilliant.
I once sold a £2k mountain bike to a guy, when I was at Brian Rourke Cycles. He was a regular customer, who'd buy stuff on a weekly basis.
2 weeks later he brought the bike back, he'd told his missus it was £700. She googled the bike and shocked at the price, rang us up and asked for the price of said bike.
Needless to say, she went ballistic and made him bring it back. It was now a 2nd hand bike and as much as we could, we gave him a fair chunk back. He was more than embarrassed.

On another occasion, a lady and a gentleman came in, with a Visa bill, asking to verify a sale that had gone through a couple of months before. We used hand written receipts and dug out bike sales for that day. Sure enough, the guys name and address matched, a member of staff distinctly remembered the sale, describing the mature, gay, buyer to a 't', who was buying the bike for his 'friend' who was with him. (Certain buyers stand out).
Here came the bad news....
The buyer was the 'gay partner' of the gent who stood before me, very upset. His lover who passed away shortly after buying the bike, had bought the bike for his 'secret lover', only upon tidying his partners accounts etc had a string of random purchases, hotel bills etc become apparent, he had been having an affair.
I couldn't help but feel sorry for this guy, not only had he lost the love of his life, it turned out this partner was never the guy he thought he was.

Lies have no future.

Guy’s you have to get more and more devious if you do not want the wife to know what you’re spending. My last underhanded reason for obtaining a pair of £400.00 side bar steps was this. Thumbs Up

When the carrier knocks at the door with a whacking great parcel look totally surprised and say to the wife, 'what have you ordered now!' To this you will receive the reply, ‘nothing’, then as you unpack and discover the item you ordered for the Land Rover say with a shocked tone, ‘I did not order this I ordered and paid for a £5.00 filter, they must have got their orders mixed up’, then go into a little rant for extra effect with something like, ‘great just what I need more problems, why can’t these sodding companies get things right’. The wife then says, ‘what are you going to do’; acting annoyed, you answer, ‘nothing they can contact me and if they contact me it's not my fault they have cocked up, and they will have to pay the postage to send it back, and if they do not get in touch I am keeping it’. Evil or Very Mad

Of course the only drawback to this little bit of deceit is that you cannot fit it straight away, but after about two weeks you can say, ‘well dear it looks as though Paddocks, Craddock’s or whoever you ordered the items from are not going to get in touch, so it looks like I have got an expensive pair of side bars for the price of a £5.00 filter’. Marriage intact and you have got your expensive part! Very Happy

Note, you can never let the wife read your posts Whistle For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Thanks gilarion, we'll be ringing your wife on a weekly basis now ....

"Good afternoon, unfortunately we've sent a package out to your husband in error, perhaps you could let us know what he's received and we'll send someone over to collect it - Thank you"

My solicitor informs me that ‘Possession is nine-tenths of the law’. Phone the wife and expect a long and lengthy court action…. Whistle Rolling with laughter For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

No tricks, just use separate accounts.

Both have our own salary.

I'm in charge of part of the costs like mortgage, schools/university payments (regretably no free here), services bills, taxes payments and her of others like supermarket, clothes for the childrens-her, fuel for the car. Both of us have some long term saving in order to keep a decent income at the retirement.

Long term projects (house modifications, major trips, expensive things for the family/house) are discussed at the beginning of the year and both provide the funds according the possibilities.

In general we end each month quite tightly. But if one of us have some spare money, can use it as he likes.

So, no problem to buy what you like as far as you fulfill all your duties. If not will be a big trouble.

Cheers! Eduardo

I used to just put things I bought straight into the garage without Mrs H's knowledge as I have the fortune of working from home most of the time. I would leave things unpacked in there for a while and then fit them a month or so later.

If she ever went into the garage and asked questions I would always reply that I have had that part-bit-toy for years. Worked every time.

These days she is not as observant as I have just replaced the 5 x boost wheels with 5 x Sawtooths and she hasn't even noticed that they have been on the car for 2 weeks!!!! Cheers Don.

I'm divorced but I held a trump card when we were married. With herself into the horses there were many ebay purchases that she would keep quiet and the real peach fell in my lap when we were walking down to the said horses field when I got a phone call from an ebay seller asking for confirmation on where to send the latest purchase, a £500 saddlle that my wife hadn't yet told me about!
