2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Orkney Grey
My my2012 came with the 2 elbows and metal centre piece, the rubber elbows were bad and pops, which i changed to alisport silicons and the setup works a dream, till they did the q360 and changed to the all flexible pipe and i start to get q2263 all the time. So yeah i am thinking to swappng back.

Hello and good day to everybody..this is my first post here, but unfortunate one..sigh..

..just 40 minutes ago, it seems I have got same as mentioned here..i was just on the traffic light and driving back home (i was alone in the car, so car was not overweight or something), uphill and suddenly very loud hissing noise came followed by loss of power and yellow engine light on dashboard turned on..this is brand new Defender (2014) with only 20k km on the clock..sigh..i never had defender before, and i was very happy to get brand new one, and now this..can you guys show me on several pics, if you have, where are those hoses so i can go and check myself before i call land Rover, just to see, is something fell off or blown away, because i really dont know where they are located and i do not want to touch/unscrew anything because car is under warranty..i just wanna see are those hoses you guys talking about, culprit here..thank you very much..

These are ENTREQ.DE stainless pipes and fittings, together with my recommended jubilee clips (other pipes available)

If you have warranty, just call them. Let them pick it up and fix it for you.

Hi Ecco

If you stand at the right side of the Defender, in the middle of the wheel arch roughly, with the bonnet open.

Look down into the engine and look for the alternator.

It will have a pulley and belt on the side facing front and a black rubber boot over the wire at the back.

Just behind and below the alternator you will see a hose disconnected from the turbo.

If it keeps blowing off, or you want to fix it yourself use two clamps, it shouldn't blow off with two clamps.

Regards
Deafdog

2.2 is available. Intercooler and stainless steel pipes are the same I have fitted, the intercooler made by a company called Chiptech in Austria they can be bought from Alive. Thumbs Up

True Ecco. But in that case, have a look, know how to fix it and then still... let them sort it out for you.
Somehow I'm glad I am almost through my warranty period. 😊

..thanks folks..i have located that hose and to be honest, i cant see much from the top (cracks and so on),and i do not want to touch a thing, because its under warranty..but it persist to make hissing noise soon as i press accelerator..it sounds like a entire jungle of angry pythons is squeezed under the engine hood and they are real Censored of..it will have to wait till monday then..i dont know am i going to lose warranty if I buy that steel hoses kit? I mean, if i buy steel hoses kit and then bring car to Land Rover and ask them to install that?

Hi Eric,

Capt. Slow, they are not Alive, but they are from German Entreq. Probably the best that exist, several on here have them, including bpman. Not easy to fit without getting bloody knuckles, unless you drive over to the Entreq workshop by lovely Lake Constanz in South Germany and let Olaf install it as I did. But be careful, if you do that, you probably will walk away with more upgrades installed, as I did. Mr. Green
I just checked Entreq website, and the version for the 2.4 is available, but the version for the 2.2 is still in the engineering/pre-production phase.
Below is a link to a thread of my visit to Entreq with details of what was all installed.

Eric FYI Entreq & Alive do NOT make intercoolers but outsource. The intercoolers are all made by the same Austrian company in this case and 'branded' accordingly I think you'll find. Whistle Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
