New speakers fitted today and much more Bass.
I managed to fit the slightly bigger rears without even removing the panels by just drilling new holes for the screws. I can see what DaveH means by the Treble the original tweeters are giving much too much, (what is the easiest way to access the back of them to disconnect them?) too soon to say if I think its a big improvement as I didn't get chance to tidy up never mind take it for a drive, but sounded good in the garage, and noticed it is quite loud outside!! For anyone considering this please note the new speaker have smaller (small) spade connectors than the originals and you will need to consider an adaptor or altering your existing wiring, I used the looms that came with the speakers and fitted the correct size male spades to that so that I did not need to alter anything on the vehicles wiring. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Tweeters simply lever out [They are a push fit]. Then just unplug them ..... If you like the sound without, just push them back in their hole unplugged, If you prefer the sound with, plug em back in Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
