Puma 2.2 in low gear, no power
Hi,
sorry if already tell ...

I was with my RR classic in the Pyrenees and no problem of power to go up in the mountains ...
I did buy a defender 2.2 in 2012, and if in low gear, no power at all, I did even prefer to go up in high gear what is not normal of course.
After some time I think that I did understand that the accelerator do not work the same in low or high

If I drive gentle, no power, I have to go on floor to have the sensation of power

If you understand my poor English, thanks for the answer

I know exactly what you mean... mine is the same!

It seems like a completely different 'map' is being used in low ratio! No noticeable torque and the turbo 'boost' only seems available with full throttle at higher rpm...

I also ask, is this indeed 'normal'? Rolling Eyes YOLO... You Only Live Once...

I think it's normal, in low gear the throttle sensitivity is different.

That was the case on the TD5 as well, some would even unplug or shunt the sensor on the t-box to get that type of throttle response in high gear as well...
