Well, appearance is the least of the problems with the current Defender. People love the appearance! That's what is iconic. It's so obvious where the problems lie that it's almost inconceivable that LR doesn't just make that a priority.

Oh and the problems are related to engineering, marketing and distribution. But of course it's more fun to dabble in design. Besides, it's so much more fun to sell to footballer wives rather than to people who put the vehicle to hard work.

Where I work, the Defender is inherently linked to the job. Even the old hands who may not be especially keen on them admit that they are totally part of the image of what we do. There is much debate and speculation about the replacement, which looks to be Isuzu D-Max vehicles. Embarassed 2011 110 USW
