The rear load space comes with a thin rubber sheet on the floor..thats it! So I soundproofed the floor and sides,,( see earlier in thread) I carpeted the sides and arches..and the result was great. What I needed now was a storage solution which suited me and allowed my 2 dogs good access. I wanted to end up with storage and a flat useable loadspace..overcoming the uneven rear arch problem Looking around the marketplace there are some very good..very expensive solutions. Here is mine!! Basically a trimmed 18mm plywood box with a lid and 2 infill panels to make the load space flat. Tailor-made and less than £50!! Very happy and the Dogs are too. They are tough to fit, took a while..and made my fingers ache. I have a set of plastic trim tools which I think are essential to fit well. At £18 I'm really pleased with the results. Rosco..^^^^^^^^^^..a good looking pair they are too!! for me 30 years of Irish Setter ownership means I understand them pretty well!! I love Retriever/Gundogs but always end up with another Setter.. Tough to deal with but waterproof and non absorbent..will never rot! The foam is high density ccf( closed cell foam) with self adhesive backing. Well worth it... It makes a big difference! Added a tracker today.. Self fit and self monitor. Very very pleased with it. Not major money...just time consuming to fit properly.
