Nakatanenga grille- Badge
Hi there,

I have the heritage grille from Nakatanenga on my puma with aircon, and wondering what the best way to fit a badge on it is? Ideally I'd like to put an old black and white series one on there, but unlike the genuine heritage grille, this one doesn't seem to have a plate to mount it. Any advice would be great! Cheers.

Is it the type with two bolt holes in?

If so would suggest a back plate with matching holes and lightly clamp the grille between the badge and back plate.

I was faced with a similar problem, and wanted sonething clean and simple to mount the modern LR oval emblem.

Cut a backing plate, the same size as the badge.

I used 6mm aluminium, rounded off the rear edge, sanded and polished it.

Drill two holes in the plate spaced to match the openings in the grill. Cut 6mm threads into the aluminium.
Using a couple of (10mm) rubber grommets pushed snugly through the grill openings, two (stainless) 6x12mm bolts and large washers you can now bolt the mounting plate to the grill. Double sided tape the emblem to plate. Done!

So I'll make up a backing plate of similar size to the plaque, drill holes to match, and then should I rivet it (from the back or front), bolt it, or just use a couple of screws from the front?

With that classic Solihull badge, I would bolt from the back (large washer and a grommet in between) and fit dome nuts from the front

Personally with the classic - I'd pop-rivet the badge on, it would stop scumbags nicking the badge
