110 USW Interior window trim surrounds (load area) question
Hi guys'n gal's,

I've not posted here before as recently returned to the Defender fold having had excursions with D3's & VW Cali 4 motions in the recent years.

Anyway to my question;
I have bought a s/h 2012 110 USW XS spec, but only just noticed the interior window surround trim in the load area appears to have a piece missing on the off side (drivers side UK/tailgate hinge side). The one around the little window if it was there.
Is this normal or has it been removed??

Presently the supplying dealer is trying to tell me 'they all come like that Sir'
Could someone confim for me please.
TIA
Mike

Hi Mike

Just popped out and had a look at mine, a 2014 110 USW.
Mine is finished with a moulding on both sides which matches the side window surrounds, the centre of both mouldings are open, where the rear windows would go.
I'd imagine they are the same trims as fitted to the 7 seat station wagon.

Have photographed for your info.,

Cheers Kevin

Mine has them to, guess you know by now yours is missing them. Don't make old people mad.

Many thanks chaps!

I thought it should be there!
I personally think the Dealer (LR franchise) just don't want to cough up for it having lost it whilst adjusting the hinges at some point.

I have to say I only noticed whilst fitting the TGE insulation/trim panels Rolling Eyes

I was thinking of fitting the rear quarter windows, as it definately helps with reversing, all the 90 USW I have driven have these fitted already, anybody know why the 110 doesn't ?

Cheers

I don't know, but when the ex owner of my landy fit the rear close panel, he must made the hole for the quarter windows because there weren't Jay

All to do with the van classification for VED purposes.
Utility station wagon doesn't get the rear and side windows to classify it as a van same as 90 & 110 HT's.

^^Unfortunately you're wrong there. All Defenders are now classed Commercials essentially, regardless of wether it's a station wagon or hard top. Also, on a Hard Top you can choose wether you want the rear whether windows of not, so not having them has nothing to do with their classification. An engine to TDi for!

I understand this is an old post but It looks like you guys would know.
I need to remove the rear trim on my TDCi utility and am having difficulty. I don't want to force it and breaj=k it. The top clip is not attached so I can see the clip on body work and the riveted piece that the clip fits into but still can't seem to free the bottom one.
Which way do I need to pull it up , down , towards the front ??????
I have just bought myself a set of clip removal tools if that helps.

Cheers

Hope someone can give me a step by step guide

btw hope you got the trim from your dealer

Just pull it straight out (as in towards the front of the vehicle) - no knack to it just pull harder if it doesn't come off.

The clips are friction fit onto the body work and made of cheese, they'll probably break when you remove them so grab a couple of spares 60p from a dealer or online.

As said above but start at the door opening edge and not in the corner. Don't make old people mad.
