Has anyone tried this upgrade relay kit? Price seems reasonable.

It looks good value, it cost me £35 (including postage) to buy decent quality bits from Polevolt to do myself, using the list provided by someone else on here. Remember to add postage if that is all you are buying. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

If Crystals are so much better than the standard headlamps unit, why do Land Rover supply the standard one?
Most of the time there's a compromised, like brighter bulbs not lasting as long, but what is the compromise with Crystals?

I guess it would probably help if you looked at the links to the 2 options my husband was referring to.

LED"s not an option as we are going to having some very expensive new seats Very Happy

The "xenon" link are Crystal (copies I assume, as there's no brand mentioned??) lamps with xenon (not hid) bulbs, whereas the other link your just buying genuine crystal lamps without bulbs. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

A top result for Ring’s flagship Xenon Ultima, which boasts 100 per cent xenon gas as well as 120 per cent more light. Consistency could have been better, but even the best sample was a step behind the Night Breaker Plus.

As with our winner, it benefited from a clearly defined beam – this made keeping to legal glare limits easy and meant the light focus could be ideally placed.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I was planning on getting LED headlights but have had cold feet at the cost (sorry Brendan).

What I've done instead is bought this:
http://www.paddockspares.com/boomslang-per...-loom.html at £27.60
http://www.paddockspares.com/pm678-wipac-c...ralia.html at £33.49
and http://www.amazon.co.uk//dp/B00EPLCP3U for £14.66
For a total of £75.75.

That compares favourably to £500 for a set of LED headlamps, though won't be as good and will use more power. Whether LEDs are 6 times better I'm not sure, but I'd have been upgrading the wiring anyway so at worst I've wasted £50 plus a bit of time.

When I fit them next weekend I'll try and do some comparison measurements of volts to the lamps and light output measurements before and after, though numbers from a lux meter are difficult to compare as they don't take the whole beam in to account.
