It will only be people who will not use them and simply tuck them away until they are worth more. Wonder if they will still leak and have panel gap!

Don't get me wrong....I still love and embrace the idea of a supercharged V8 in a Defender. I had a 3.9 V8 Discovery and it was fantastic to drive. Money no object, I'd have one.
You can get a 4.2 V8 supercharged petrol engine gearbox and drivetrain conversion that will deliver 450 – 470bhp, maximum torque 550 Nm for £5 short of £38k not inclusive of VAT, all without getting your hands dirty. Add that to the price of a brand new one and should you have £120k lying around in your rented or 'living with parents' accommodation in loose change you'd still have enough change for a house deposit that blows this thread totally out of the water at the same time...... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic34415....se+deposit If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! A small block Ford would be cheaper and better.
Any amount of bolt on goodies up to 600 bhp. |

There's plenty of whispers from people apparently in the know - and i think there's ways and means to put this into a limited production run without jumping through all the regulatory hoops of emissions etc.

100 inch - as Supacat mentioned, they could well have subbed out the conversion work to not hit any laws and testing. Think of a company who have an affiliation with Land Rover on a motorsport level.
On another note, have you ordered one Ken??? |

Having seen the US Icon recently on the threads, I was thinking the same. Keep it simple, keep it US and keep it appropriate (I.e. No doubt the lump is used in F350s etc). 4.2 Supercharged is all well and good, but 38k for a Eurpoean, saloon/estate based plant is missing the point. Surely a US V8 conversion would be a heap cheaper? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Go the LS3,....6.2L of big, lazy, U.S. Muscle. A mgnificently under stressed engine at 400HP. Put a blower on top & ya've got 6/700hp......+ !! Not that ya'd need it?
But, a "Factory V8 Defender",..No way,....I reckon it's all fantasy. Pickles. |
