110 upgrade shock options
am running a 58plate XS utility.

i believe it has the same shocks and springs as a SW XS? is this correct? anyone know.

I am thinking of upgrading the shocks the rear in partcular. on a recent Morocco trip about 6hrs into a wadi crossing on what was then desert the stds just couldnt cope. they were too hot to touch and soon lost their ability to function. the fronts followed about 2hrs later.

truck was std fitted with overlanding gear for two weeks and two people.

i am looking for something that will cope with the extra shock loading in high ambients. my challenge truck runs OME front and TJMs rear and one of those is who i am leaning towards just wondering who had what experience on here for similar setups/usage.

edited to add - i want to stick with one shock per corner. Cheers

Hey James I went for the terrafirma ones.TF116 and TF117 with Flatdog HD standard height springs. They still need fitting but came recommended Thumbs Up

I will also recommend the Terrafirma expedition ones. I have gone for a set of Bilstein remote reservoir shocks which are the same as used on the army Rand Rovers in Afghanistan.

Other than those, there are OME and Koni, but you have to fork out for what you get.

P.S. Utility should have the HD rear shocks as used on the DC

Just fitted a set of TJM +30mm coils and TJM XGS shocks, haven't driven my vehicle yet, will only be home in 4 more weeks, but will give my driving impressions as soon as I am back.

guys i dont mean to be arsey, and you can take it either way but do you have to resort to OT chat on all the threads?

i know you are long standing members where as i am not but it does start to detract from the point of threads after a while.

Thank you for all the suggestions so far.

TJM i have been advised against for Exped use, as they were commented on not being upto it. they are great on my Challenge truck though.

Koni and OME look good and have the rep but are quite £££ compared to the TFs. The latter seem to have a good spec for the price too. i am not sure on their longetivity though. Cheers
