^^^ Sounds OK to me, other than sitting at 60mph, making sure you have a clean air filter etc then I don't think you'll get much better, other than having a tune and changing to 1.2 gearing in the transfer box that is, which would probably give you another 3/4mpg.

My puma uses less on a 3-4hr main road motorway run at 60/65 than it does 55/60mph.

Td5 best was 36.? On a convoy run in Portugal for 200 miles. Cheers

hmm I seem to get significantly better economy out of pottering around the countryside/towns than on the motorway.

I can clear 32mpg doing this - vs 28-29mpg on the motorway at a steady 70.


Rather disappointingly, after fitting my 1.2 transfer ratio gears last year economy has actually dropped slightly. Perhaps I need to get it remapped to suit the gearing now?

I went to the 4x4 show yesterday at Donnington 242 miles mostly on motorway. 90 hard top cooper stt 60 mph super derv. I got 30mpg which I was well pleased with.cheers John
