Rear demist electrical conundrum 300tdi
Ok so getting a bit steamed up tonight I switched on the rear demist. When I got home and removed keys the dash warning light remained lit! I left it 10 mins and no change. Strangely when I clicked side lights on my drls lit too! They only come on when they sense voltage over curtain figure. Disconnected battery for now. Any clues why it would do this? My 109 thread

I had this on my 90, took the switch part and gave it a good clean up. Worked after that.

Yep, I would say either a dirty switch or sticking relay.

I've sorted it! There wasn't actually a problem lol. I rarely use it and hadn't realised how it worked. If I switch it on I have to switch it off! Now I can only switch it off if the key is in pos 2. I presumed it would switch off itself with key removed. so as long as key is turned it switches off no probs Thumbs Up My 109 thread

so if you forget to switch it off when you turn the ignition off it drains your battery?
I can't think why they did it non-ignition switched, and even it it was live all the time I can't think why you wouldn't be able to turn it off with the ignition off. It's like you've got an ignition-live switch controlling a permanent live latching relay.

mine had replacement bulkhead, and it came from a 2005 td5, dash was included so was fitted Thumbs Up i think the td5 dash gives you a better center consul. the biggest improvement is by reteo fitting the dials (which im about to do) as they are much brighter/clearer lit and way more up to date looking. Thumbs Up My 109 thread
