Had 3 944s...All Red!
superb car to look at..superb to drive.. but they can hide a multitude of faults.. Also....don't expect Defender prices for spares!! Suspect areas are:- Cill corrosion.( seam below door) front to rear fuel line corrosion..( nightmare to replace) Power steering..rack and pump Front wishbone bush assemblies Digital clock on dashboard Crack in dashboard top if left in sun Tailgate seals leak into boot just a few regulars Ive come across...there are plenty more Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... Defender 90 HT............Pangea Green BMW X3 Msport............Carbon Black Mini Electric................Grey. (wow!) MGB Roadster……..........Vermillion 17k miles Honda Benly CD200....Maroon --------McLouis Fusio........7.4m of fun |

If you are a "typical" Defender owner..then yes!
by that I mean if you are practical and happy to take on tasks. They are well built and relatively mechanically straight forward. By choice I would go back to my last which was a 2,7. The 2.5 is an Audi sourced engine...the 2.7 is Porsche developed. Great fun at weekends, and very cheap to insure as a "Classic" I kept my last one 9 years..and sold it for almost what I paid. Do I miss it..yes?..But love my current Z4 too!..( red of course!) Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... Clemmo
Yep i am typical Defender owner not afraid to lift a spanner and get hands dirty. To be honest at the sort of money i am talking, if it puts a smile on my face for a month or two i should get my money back......as long as there is no headaches Thanks for the advice |
