Maybe Defender light are purposely designed by Land Rover not be to bright. I think it is for the following reason:
If you drive off-road your light will get dirty and because of the dirt your light become hot. If you then drive through deep water, a hot glass can break by the cold water. If you redesign the loom there will be more power going to the light and so the glass will get hotter so there is more chance that the glass will break. I've ordered the loom too, their out of stock but are due in early next week.
