I was cleaning the chimney recently, closely watched by my daughter Sarah (16)
who has Down Syndrome. When I was finished Sarah looked at me and said "Clean for Santa?" I thought I'd use this opportunity to get the Santa thing cleared up. "Santa is very busy with all of the little girls and might not have time to come to the big girls, so Santa gets the parents to get presents for the big girls". Job done I thought. Quick as a flash Sarah said "Annabelle (her doll of many years) is still small" Game, set, match, F.A. Cup, World Cup and anything else you can think of to Sarah. Sometimes I wonder why I worry about her..... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

Not Christmas-related but when my oldest daughter Amy was about 8, my wife was trying to get her to wash her hair. My daughter said "I'm not washing my hair because I'm a scientist". So my wife, foolishly attempting logic, said "Daddy washes his hair and he's a scientist". The immediate answer was "Well, he can't be a very good one then!" Sometimes I think we're just cannon fodder Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
