Which Diesel Fuel
Obviously a discussion I've seen on many a car forum over the years.

What brand of fuel have people found suits the Puma best?

At least you didn't mention additives or 2 stroke oil. OOPS! Whistle

I have a 200Tdi and it chews up whatever diesel I put in but usually go for BP because it seems to get a few more mpg out of it (average 33mpg) and add some Rhino Diesel Additive because I always have done and it seems to help. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Oh god another fuel thread,lol.IMHO,branded fuel every time,I use BP Ultimate or V-power and top up occasionally with regular,I also use fuel additives Mr. Green . Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

The cheapest... Sainsbury's, when they give 8p of a litre, otherwise BP's cheapest because I get Nectar points.

My TDCI runs sweeter and gives the best mpg on V-Power or BP Ultimate. Not that I put it in that often. It actually isn't a false economy if you try and work it out.

Funny enough, my td5 didn't go any better with the dear stuff?

If you use super market stuff, you deserve what it will do to you engine!

Er 160k on previous engine with no problems ! 2005 Td5 90 XS

That particular fuel cocktail sounds exactly the same as I use. The Ford Transit engine is designed to run on basic diesel.

This always makes me laugh....

Having seen behind the scenes and witnessed the same trucks filling many petrol stations, supermarket and otherwise.

The only thing worth considering is any additives but probably more importantly the state of the holding tank (age, amount of crud, how full it was when you took your fuel, rate of turnover etc.

The fact that the pump says tesco on it really doesn't mean the slightest thing!
