I have had an issue with my rear window break light
the metal strip fitted in the window that feeds the power to the light has broken at the terminal to the light fitting. I have fitted a temporary cable from the door inlet feed in to the light to keep it working. is there any way of fixing the strip and reattach the light to the strip again with out replacing the whole window? I have exactly the same issue, my wire is now permanent and is hidden behind the rubber seal. A fix would be good though as the top half of my rear window heater element does not work so must be a break in the element but not bothered checking close up but could add to the job list. The reason the lights stop working is the break light draws to many amps and rear glass heated window is only designed to take low voltage through silver silk lines common fault on all defender they did mod 2013 on models but they burn out as well change bulb to led type just another JLR poor design

That may be so Claire ... but the light was knocked when the light stopped working & I took the cover off - so slightly self imposed issues here
I found that the bulb had gone but when old bulb was removed, I found the metal strip was broken - hence the need to fix the thing!!
