Can you spot the backup camera?
The challenge of installing a backup camera on the defender is being able to see over the spare tire. By mounting the camera high up, on the rear task light, this also serves as a pedestrian safety improvement. No new holes drilled. The mounting bracket of the camera aligns perfectly with the extruded troughs of the handle of the task light, so the screws dive right in. Then, you can adjust the angle of the camera, and/or adjust the angle of the task light, for fine-tuning of your image.

Did mine somewhat different Wink

I wanted to be able to see the towball for easier hitch up,, so was fitted to the number plate lamp plinth,, so when with a small camera with built in led's..fairly discreet,, works a treat Thumbs Up

TerryT, The camera I used has built in IR LEDs, and is model EONON A0112z, which you can find on ebay for about fifty bucks.

Good old E Blag for mine

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141019667847?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT

It was a gamble, sounded like it would do the job,, as i wanted a small one to mount under the NP lamp, angle is wide enough to get a good back up view, and see the ball California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Rolling Eyes You found a good solution,, I looked for a while for the best place, if fitted to the top center, all you got was a good pictures of the spare wheel, in the way of the towball,,,as i was also upgrading to a LED NP lamp from MCL, seams a logical location

I wanted to resist drilling any holes !! yet ! I wired mine up into the reverse gear switch, as well as a separate dash switch, so can use the reverse light for general illumination with ign off California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

TJ, love what you did.

Roughly what would it cost to get someone to instal your system? I would not try it myself, being a mechanical numty.

Also would it be possible to have the screen without doing anything to the dash.

I don't yet know if I will keep the 110 after 3 years, it will depend on what the new Defender is like so I want to keep everything standard or at least easy to get back to standard spec. 1970 Series 2A 88"

Hi

My screen is part of the sat-nag, audio system, (Pioneer single din, with motorized pop out screen,)

The camera was peanuts £20 odd from memory (link above somewhere ?) cable all ran forward in the side/roof panel, and down the A pillar,, you will need some form of screen, again cheap on e blag

As i was fitting a Led bumper plate lamp, the plinth had to be modified for than, so seams to best place for the camera

All my 110's, have been returned back to as standard as possible, hence not wanting to drill anything

As to cost ? 2/3 hours labour max (with a new screen,,really is a easy job) camera, and a screen California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1
