Daihatsu Fourtrak would be the way i'd go. Or if it has to be a landy, a D1 again is probably your best bet, if its not too rotten. 2001 Td5 CSW (weekend and snow mobile) Plenty of lights, M/T tyres EGR delete, roofrack, swing away wheel carrier, snorkel.

To be honest its not a popular choice but for 1k you can pick up an ok 2.5td jeep Cherokee xj. I bought one cheap so I didnt mess my 110 up and it was fantastic, I drove it to Gibraltar and back off roading on the way and never let itself down or used oil, much better all round than a D1, wish I kept it as a runaround!
