Sorry Brendan, could you clarify what 'position lights' are please? Is this to adjust the light level for when towing?
I am after a set of LED lights, and was put off the Noldens on price alone - but your offer seems too good to miss! I am a little confused by the offer though - you say 3+ sets and 6+ sets - obviously I would like only 1 set, do I have to wait until a certain date where you have received enough offers to decide which price bracket to go with, or would you be able to ship them out when ordered (assuming you are back)? Please excuse my ignorance! ChrisA. |

By postion lights I'm sure he means sidelights as some special models didn't have separate sidelight they are in the headlight

Some better quality pics of the Noldens light pattern taken with a Canon G1X in hand held night scene mode which is pretty close to eyeball mk 1 to me.

To borrow Eric's phrase, apples and pears comparison
The new Speaker Evo2 have a list price of £499 + VAT or £599 including VAT, what price they will be launched to Defender 2 members?? Our price to Defender 2 members is £525 including VAT. If price is your main buying point then consider Truck Lite at less then £400 including VAT The Ingress protection rating of the Noldens is IP6K9K, Truck Lites IP69K, Speakers is IP67 Noldens have the highest IP rating which is proof against high pressure, high temperature jet wash at a close distance of 100 mm Speakers with IP 67 should be proof against immersion of water at bottom of headlights to a depth of one metre Noldens have a measured light output of 1700 lumens whereas the Speakers are 1150 lumens measured output. The Truck Lites have a raw lumen of 1300 lumens. Sorry can not remember actual output. All the above lights are road legal for use in the UK Now some people have a personal preferences about the appearance of different lights which can not be readily measured. So it is down to individual people to decide on their own choice be it based on a combination of price, specification, quality, their preferred supplier etc. etc. Brendan |

I am really keen on a set but I am slightly worried about dipped beam performance on the lanes around me. In the photos Lorryman posted the cutoff looks pretty extreme. How do people with the Noldens find that they compare to the original halogen units on dipped beam?

We use both standard filament bulbs in one of our vehicles and LED headlights in two other Defenders. Lots of narrow roads with dry stone walls either side!
The Noldens are a lot lot better then standard bulbs. Yes they have a sharp cut off and normally the headlights do not need readjusting when replacing standard headlights with LEDs. If you want to you can readjust the replacement LED headlights slightly upwards if you want a slightly longer low beam pattern. Black powder coated stainless rings normally £30/pair or £25 if bought with headlights Bare stainless steel rings normally £25/pair or £20 if bought with headlights. Brendan |
