The last time I went to watch (about 20 years ago), I parked on a track below the Strines public house, then walked over the moors to Derwent Dam. it was like a trail of ants going over the moors!
The easiest place to watch would probably be on the main road at the side of Ladybower. Various reports say that it will be busy and "cones" have been put on the main roads to stop parking congestion. There is also a shuttle bus that takes you from Ladybower to Derwent Dam if you fancy that. |

We were fortunate enough to see The Red Arrows and the Lancaster flying into and out of Edinburgh airport for refuelling en-route to Stirling Armed Forces Day earlier this year.
It was amazing watching the arrows fly up and circle the airport before peeling off into a perfectly spaced line for landing, they were followed less than an hour later by the Lnacastser which came in so low and slow it just seemed to hang there!!! Truly awesome sight and one I'll probably never witness again 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE |

We are lucky enough to live adjacent to Bournemouth airport. When Goodwood was on we got to see them take off and land each day. Wonderful sight and sound. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Went to see them at lincs aviation as they did a flyover just jane. It was amazing. 12 merlins is the finest sound on the planet. Derwent was rammed this evening. Wonder if there are in lanes up there that could be used for future events 110 double cab in belize green.

What a great afternoon, Spitfire and Hurricane flew past at 3:30 'ish (nice surprise) then the main event bang on time.
Fantastic sight and sound, I'll be lucky to see that again! Many thanks to all who keep these fantastic aircraft airworthy. Long may it continue. |

Excellent afternoon well worth the 3 hours that we waited. The Lancasters flew over three times. Many thanks to Thwaites for sponsoring the flights of the planes. The roads were practically grid locked after
As for lanes in the area one of the best was permanently closed to vehicles on the 18th Stanage or to use the propr name Long Causeway was one of my favourites . I'm up for a few lanes in the near future. Edited to remove the photo Uncas Last edited by uncas on 22nd Sep 2014 9:20am. Edited 1 time in total |
