The Alpine SWE 1200 should work, my Defender is MY 13, I attached mine to the standard cubby with Velcro, a lot easier than using the brackets provided which would have stood proud of the box.

Slighty when looking at the Alpine SWE-1200 online it appears it comes with a little amp seperate to sub box. Where is this hidden on the factory fit LR setup?

Interesting.... This is taken out of the new Defender Brochure Quote 'For a further enhanced in-car sound experience, an upgraded system with superior speakers and subwoofer (150W) is also available.' |

hey, don't have the new def but 110 2008. Thought about making it double din but decided to keep it original. I wanted navigation and DAB. So I got the allpine 511DR (flipscreen) with DAB, bluetooth (for calls and streaming) and Navigation module. Replaced speakers with focal speakers (front, rear and tweeters on dash. Added the focal sub and additional 4 channel amp. Sounds mighty! Added a rear view cam as well. It need some IQ tweaking to get the sound nice (regarding high and low en low pass to sub). Have a additional volume know for the sub in my dash which is really nice. At low volume it needs a little more low and it sucks to do it via the radio navigation system. So easy to adjust.

I added the pack to my 2013 CSW and the speakers are definately upgraded above the standard fit items. |

Yep, different part numbers (and prices, premium about 3x the cost) : Standard LR032945, Premium LR040868 tweeters remain the same. |

Hi All,
We take plenty of these in and out every day and I can confirm the speakers are different when you select the audio upgrade. They are slightly better quality with a deeper cone although if you are into your hifi and want something with some oomph you will probably be disappointed. If you want a little better quality sound then it's good value for money. Regards UT |

My Alpine amp is velcroed to the back of my cubby and just last week I changed the four 10cm speakers which were adequate - now have Alpine 180 w speakers and the sound is superb Amp cost £130 and speakers £40.

I fitted two new speaker 10cm to the front and bought two of the MUD speaker adapters for the rear so I could get them up to 13cm and also fitted the Alpine Sub to the rear of the cubby box. It is connected to a Pioneer media unit (no CD) connects with phone via Bluetooth and sound is very good actually. Phone works pretty well too. There is a Sub controller that sits on the side of the cubby box so I can alter the amount of bass. All in all I am really happy with the quality of the sound. It's a very easy upgrade you can do yourself. LR Defender 110 XS Utility Wagon

Either i was not charged for the bluetooth upgrade, or it comes standard with 15MY As i knew the BT phone was not that good, never bothered with a upgrade, as it was all coming out anyway California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |
