Pilot learn?
I've read about the pilot learn which can be done on tdci defenders which has had some success in making noisy injectors quieter and making the engine smoother. My question is, is the pilot learn something that can also be done on a td5 or is it tdci specific? The reason for my question is I have a vibration that has started recently and sometimes it's barely noticeable and the engine feels smoother but other times is quite bad and the engine feels to be running rough (although the engine pulls really well all the time) so, as I've fitted a new MAF and a new dmf recently (dmf last year), I can't decide if it's a drive train problem or engine problem Big Cry

Tdci specific.... although each Td5 injector has its own code that needs to be entered into the ECU to run at its best.
But unless your ECU or injectors or engine have been changed, then this shouldn't have been altered.

Unfortunately not as I've changed the loom to try and sort the problem Big Cry I think it must be the year old dmf on its way out as the engine pulls really well. I'm going to see if it gets worse and if so refurb the gearbox and do the clutch slave cylinder while the dmf and clutch are getting done again.
