Very nice, like what you've done so far and will be staying tuned. Like the bonnet hinges, where did you acquire them from? Thanks.

Thanks Andy Thumbs Up
The hinges were from HERE
The only issue with them is that they have an extra pair of holes which I can't, for the life of me, work out what they are for!?! Maybe some kind of hi-lift jack holder or something?? Tom

Thanks, link to the hinges is in my last post. They're dead easy to fit, lift the bonnet off, replace the hinges on the bonnet for the new item (3 nuts each on the underside), push in the new bushes on the bulkhead, line up the bonnet and fit the bolt through the hinge and bush.

I thought I'd take a picture of my DRL setup for anyone that's interested (does anyone even read this drivel? Laughing )
The top image shows the DRL setting which is on with the vehicles ignition, when side or headlights are selected on the stalk the bulbs dim as in the second image.

Had a really appalling attempt at turning the roof black on microsoft paint. I'm going to have to take the plunge! Twisted Evil

Hello TDCi Guy / Tom

Before you take 'the plunge!'....

Maybe a Black Carbon Wrap to your roof may be worth considering... Question
if done well it could look good, giving the contrast you are looking for but with 'interest'.

That looks like interesting stuff Skip. If you don't mind me asking, how much did that cost to get done? Tom

Hello Tom,

I can't really answer that, as the work was undertaken as part of a general 'cosmetic upgrade' inside and out by BLR. So I only know the 'premium' we paid over the base price of the 90.

The vehicle was prepared for a customer who 'changed his mind' and then pursued a 110, we also had some additional work done as part of the deal.

The relatively new 'phenomenon' of upgrading Defenders by specialist wasn't the route I intended to take when I heard about this 90 last year, but the standard is high, and the deal was a good one...
(don't believe that all the Defenders of this type achieve silly prices).

Mine has a silver carbon applied to the roof, bonnet, front bumper, steering guard and wheel arches. The silver is very similar to the Stornoway Grey colour of the 90, so at first glance you almost don't see it (which I like).

There are an increasing number of suppliers (installers) for this type of finishing, I have recently contacted one in Oxford as part of a project to apply this to the roof of a 'overland caravan project' I'm in the process of planning.

The Vinyl looks be less expensive than Paining so it's worth consideration.

Another while since any updates, it's becoming a monthly feature.

I finally took the plunge and bought the MUD side panels for the hard top. Firstly I bought a box of Silent Coat and applied this to the hard top sides. (I have to apologise for the even-worse-than-usual photos)

Then I applied the foam which is supplied with the MUD panels and finally the panels themselves. I went for the 4 additional nets and I think they look really smart. Just got to add a bit of carpet to the rest of the 'bare metal' bits in the rear and I may have a go at making up a panel for where the windows normally are either side of the rear door.

I also fitted Silent Coat in the footwell area. I'm quite impressed with the performance of the SC so far, I'm looking forward to fitting it throughout the rest of the truck. Tom
