Dampers: OME vs. Terrafirma??
What is the panels concensus of Terrafirma dampers?

I've always run OME on my last few LR's, always been happy with them ect. But I'm due a new pair on the back of the 110 soon I think, and the prices (£90 ish +vat) for the HD OME damper is about twice the price of the "HD" thick piston'd tarrafirma offering.

But is half the price also half the quality? Or are OME just double the price because they're yellow and 'stralian?

Tried both. Current TD5 on new OME and my best mates on TF. Just been out for a spin in a mates 2013 110 and surprised again how bouncy the ride was on OE shocks.

Other mate with the TF set up rides like its got no damping. Very sporty but crashes over even the smallest ruts and bumps. The finish on his shocks also came off within 12 months and look pants. Would do my nut in the way it rides.

OME plush, smooth and nuggety ride. Feels almost jag like compared to a stiffly sprung German machine.

^^^ Agree Tf are fine on a budget but can be a tad hard pending your set-up.

Have you considered Koni shox...In my opinion much better than OME and adjustable too Thumbs Up

Tf are poo. Cheap, nasty, badly finished, poorly designed.

Didn't even think what was the retaining washer size whilst designing

TF - avoid

OME - good

Bilstein - better

Koni - even better

Yes I put Koni Heavy tracks under my Camel Discovery and they are great. Mine could be adjusted in 3 settings Normally I was driving is the middle setting, but on holidays I put the rear in the 3rd setting for a little more stability with a full roof rack. Roel

Had TF Bigbore for last two years and died, one of the front had also started to leak, change to Old Man Emu Nitro Sport +2 with springs, they are firmer than the TF but with the harshness, towing 2 tonne caravan been fine so far
