Maybe the stability control will be switchable as it is on many cars. 2005 Td5 90 XS

I'm sure it'll be able to be turned off, as with the rest of the range!

But when do the 2015my defenders get built? I assumed it would be 64 plate onwards but mine is due to be 14 plate...

I went on a Factory tour on the 2nd October 2013 and they were still building 13MY even though 14MY with Defender on the bonnet had been announced for ages.
All the ones I saw had LR bonnets |

Mike, any idea on whether DSC will be de-activated when off-road? surely that will be an impediment then? --

Ok, here comes the clarification, the Defender model year 2015 as said in this thread will be equipped with Dynamic Stability Control, but it will be possible to deactivate the system when needed, like in certain off-road situations. For that purpose Land Rover have used the empty spare space for a sixth command button in the center Puma dash front.
Picture below. Thanks to the French LandMag for this confirmation. Eric Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Thanks for that eric, that placing of that switch would create a bit of an issue for me, as I have the O.E. driving light switch in the only remaining empty factory switch location!
Still, an excellent, "additional feature" for the last Defenders. Pickles. |

My new truck has that funny looking "drunk driver" switch on the far left hand side of the row of 6 buttons.
