I used the MUD dash mount. Currently out of stock but looks really neat and tidy, almost a factory like finish. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!

I got a handheld one, but when I was thinking of having a normal one I was going to mount it on a normal hang down bracket inside the cubby, thought it would have been quite neat

FCX and mobile solutions amongst others do cubbys specifically designed to take a din unit/radio too Cheers, David

In my TD5 I have installed the CB in a cubby box.

There are many ways to do this, but mine is a Exmoor cubby box and I fastened the CB to the inside of the sloping front face. I have put a gas strut on the cubby box lid to keep it open when in use.

cheers

Hmm I've looked at that option, trying to avoid though as I need my middle seat.

I also have a MUD roof console and the CB fits nicely in this, with the mike easy to use, without removing it from its clip

I have my antennas on my Patriot roof rack the coax I have fed through the rear passenger doors the door seals cater ok like this and then the coax i fed inside the roof lining and out through the existing coutosy light hole as the console has a seperate hole for the light, the power leads direct from the battery and up the B pillar again in the roof lining and out the light hole all are inside the din slot radio in and hook up I have a Atas 120a on the drivers side and a Sirio 2070R on the passanger side

My Td5 90 had a canvas on, so I mounted my CB under the dashboard just in front of the handbrake lever. That was also handy for wiring it into the fusebox (wasn't permanently hard wired into the vehicle loom). I mounted the aerial on the passenger side front wing kinda military style. Pete
