United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
Instrument panel odd display
Following problems I had during and after changing the battery on my Defender (initially the IPAC was dead with only hard wired warning lights showing - cured by pulling both the fuses which feed the IPAC), now at ignition on the trip line of the milage display shows what appears as a lower case 'b'to the left of where the trip milage is normally shown, a short press of the trip reset button restores this to the normal trip display but this reappears at the next ignition-on. No error codes are present.

Any idea what causes this or how to cure it - anyone?

No experience with Puma's but things like that with a D3 can be cured with a hard reset. i.e. take both + & - cable from the battery and hold them together for a short time 10 sec or so.

With a D3 you have to wait 2 minutes before disconnecting the battery after doing anything with the d3. Is that with the Puma the same? Roel

I'm aware of the D3 hard reset (had a D3 for a while before returning to Defenders) but didn't think it applied here.
The handbook actually states to disconnect the battery within 15 seconds of switching off and removing the key to stop the alarm sounding.
I am going to try a reset by disconnecting the battery again but when I'm not at home to save annoying the neighbours if (when) the alarm goes off.
