Could be that the air that was introduced into the pipes when you changed the regulator, was enough to push the pump over the edge. Sounds like it might have been on its last legs anyway?

I know it may be teaching your grandmother to suck eggs but, seeing as you have done some work to it therefore it's been standing around are you certain that the immobiliser hasn't kicked in or the inertia switch under the bonnet on the bulkhead hasn't been knocked.
What you could try is on the top of the fuel filter housing take out(if fitted) the air bleed valve from inside the brass tail that screws in to the housing. It is the front left as you look at the filter from the side(If you were to look down on it it would be the OSR) |

was just a bad earth, sorted it and its working fine, still not started as have a flat battery again, but fingers crossed now.... |
