I have the new Alisport from BAS and it went in smooth and snug. Results are impressive too. Also IF anything were to go wrong I'm certain Pete would sort it out, as would all the site sponsors

It should perhaps be noted that the test in the video doesn't cover everything. Although the black intercooler does better standing still, it is completely in the open air. In my 110, it's "hot-boxed" (insulated and heated) between the radiator and aircon. It can only really lose heat if the outside environment is cooler, i.e. sanding still without airflow it would probably be pretty useless whatever colour it was. There was a time where Alisport were rumoured to be having difficulties but that is not necessarily the case now. Maybe the one you got was from the period I posted the following.......My sentiments at the end remain the same today.

And how about this one? If the quality is as per usual Entreq standards, it would beat anything else on the market. So are there members on here who have installed this one, and can comment?
http://www.entreq.de/technics/heating-and-...4-td5.html Click image to enlarge A bit , but interesting that there are several updates on Entreq's website, notably the Airflow Kit for the Puma 2.4 is back, even if it is clearly stated that it is not in stock yet, but after the item had a long absence from the Entreq website, it is now back on again... I know from Olaf that he most likely has found a SS shop which is able and ready to produce these intercooler pipes at the required Entreq quality standards, so I am watching this with interest too. http://www.entreq.de/technics/heating-and-...-tdci.html You never actually own a Defender. Talk to Pete surely he would know the best inter cooler to match your remap The worst thing you could do is buy one that is not optimal for your remap |

I would imagine that the performance differences between Alisport, Chiptech, Nakatanenga and Entreq (perhaps not Britpart...) are fairly minor. I know my recent Alisport seems good quality (the visible welding is anyway) and I would bet the others are as well. I nearly bought Chiptech as they are more local and I was also concerned about the rumours about Alisport's problems but I can't see any evidence now. My main reasons for going for Alisport from BAS were that Pete has also provided the remap and turbo and they should all work together, and that he was involved in designing the intercooler with Alisport so I assume it is the most developed design (the others all look the same). Now for the cliché... "each to their own" Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Just to even the playing field about the whole black/silver discussion, when the engine is hot and the vehicle is at standstill, a large amount of heat is radiating from the radiator and aircon - much more than the stationary air in the intercooler. In this case, perhaps having a nice heat absorbing black coating on the intercooler isn't the best idea...

if stood still on tickover the vicous fan is still turning (slowly if below temp ) pulling air through rad, intercooler, aircon
black/silver difference ? I would say small all the cores are made by someone else anyway , it really comes down to standard of welding and fittings welded in the right place , and end chamber being right shape and size for air flow cast or moulded end chambers would be better than welded ones as they can be cast or moulded with rounded corners , but the price of reflects in the demand for them , cast or moulded would cost a lot more |

^^ The Ultimate? This one here?
http://www.alivetuning.com/alive-boutique/...duct_id=90 Is also made in Germany , just like the Entreq one (I presume), and from the pictures this one from Alive looks identical to the Entreq one....
