so hand brake sorted and it would SEEM to clunking on gear change is less often but as with intermittent problems it's difficult to quantify.

not having clue as to what happens when the prop exceeds the angles of articulation that is supposed to work within it seems like the drum now not isolating has improved things (that said I'm sure that can't be the because because it's only a very minor amount).

back to your question though the clonking seems to be coming from the gearbox area / clutch. I'm getting the A frame ball joint replaced if nothing else to rule it out but my gut feeling is it's the clutch.

the idea of the clutch plate springs sticking in the compressed position which was suggested to seems like the most viable explanation to me but clearly not the cheapest / easiest thing to resolve Sad

I guess it could also explain the occasional 'rubber band effect' when pulling away first thing in the morning.....zoom off like rubber band unwinding then back to an almost standstill?

anyhow ignoring above I'm back good progress at last and with continued effort it'll all be sorted soon Very Happy
