You should definitely go for a defender, I own a 110 and rr supercharged obviously the rr is in a class of its own but with defender you feel as you're part of the car, you feel every bump, bounce and body roll. Its just brilliant when in the driver's seat, always have a smile despite being bumpy. Its made to be a tough off-roader and doing all sorts of hard work. Good luck. Thumbs Up '08 LR Defender 110

my wife even agrees, well she said it and I agreed, the best vehicle we have ever had...and we have had quite a few...go ahead and make the plunge, you won't regret it. editted to say the 110 if you are married and want kids, or just want kids...90 probably is a bit of a chick magnet...or dude magnet? 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately)

Thanks to all for the replies.
Collected RRS from dealer today, in for a warranty job, and handed back their Defender 90 CSW which I have enjoyed driving.
Had a test drive in a 110 CSW XS, big difference in the ride quality I found, not so harsh by a long way.
OK a RRS it aint but, with end of warranty in 6 months and the fear of possible problems which would be expensive, I bit the bullet and ordered a Defender 110 CSW XS.
As you say, you feel more a part of the vehicle because you have to DRIVE it where as the RRS almost drives itself. I will miss the RRS but know I will get a lot of enjoyment from the Defender.
Definately room for more Cider in the back (Tricky or Wyscome Suicider) Wink and I will not be so wary about taking a Defender off road. Very Happy
Thanks again fella's and Sheila's for your input and welcome messages.
Cheers........TC. Thumbs Up Its easy to smile and be happy when the world rolls along like a song.

Hi Tony. I live near Taunton, Blackdowns end. (No green lanes in Somerset Big Cry )

I love my 90 (bought from Taunton Land Rover) , but if choosing again would have bought a 110 double cab as they have the lower road tax, better front seat room & have a small pickup-truck area at the back. Plus the rear cab windows give increased visibility which IMO is needed given 110s' large turning circle. If you want extra carrying space, get a trailer! Idea Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Thanks again guys,

I did think about the 110 utility xs but the insurance was a lot higher so almost cancels out the extra Brown Tax on the CSW XS.

Woo hoo Thumbs Up

We just need LR to pick up on stories like this to feed into their Ikon design process. We don't want it too refined Wink One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
