Fiesta is good little car but I would also consider a Corsa 1.3d as from experience there bullet proof ( used hard at work and abused on tracks made for L-r's) Working towards Carry on camping!

WE used to have a Transit Connect high roof van. It would do about 38 to 40 MPG. good driving position, good in wet weather and snow. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

We have the Citroen Berlingo's at work and Corsa diesel car (if the car version is the same as the van version then I wouldn't) Neither I would buy myself.
I find the pedal space on the Berlingos cramped and with the cargo barrier in place the seat is limited in adjustments if you like the back rest back and the seat back. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

I've got a Shogun swb commercial, more room in the back than a fiesta but the fuel economy isn't as good, having said that I average about 36mpg. I have it on the company for low benefit in kind.

Beware the diesel fiesta,
If it`s got the peuegot hdi engine, it`s a very good engine we have one in our 307. But if the service history is poor or it`s had a new turbo walk away. Google 1.6 / 1.4 hdi turbo failures Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires. |

Thanks for the replies everyone!
Unfortunately, Transit Connect is ruled out! Had one before, never again! It seemed to drink more than Charlie Sheen Plus, it really is a bit big for what I need. With the Defender, I've still got the ability to transport big loads when necessary, so I really only need something small. Martinfiattech- Thanks for that, I hadn't realised. I'll certainly bare that in mind! I've made an appointment to go an view a Fiesta on Wednesday, so I'll get a better idea of their practicability after that. Pete An engine to TDi for! Amazed at the replies about caddy vans. I started a job once and was given one, what an utter heap of noisy slow thirsty crud. Told them that they'd best change it or look for another fitter asap Swapped it for a brand new one: exactly the same. Would have rather had wheelbarrow it would have been faster and quieter my 23 year old 200 tdi would have eaten it for breakfast
