Well what do you know. I thought I'd purchase the tool linked above as it seemed cheap and you just never know when you're going to need one. I figured it is better to have and not need than to need and...
Anyway, courtesy of a road hogging builder's van who smacked my snorkel and shattered my wing mirror today I now have a need for this tool. And a renewed hatred of scruffy old builders vans driven by Censored !

thanks about the two plastic rivits in the corners ... wonder LR have used both fir-tree clips and those rivits?

no problem regarding the plastic surround at the locking button ... it keeps lifting by itself when I unlock the door. My starting regime is putting the key in the ignition and pushing the plastic fitting down Shocked

In my experience the some of the door poppets always break or become damaged no matter how careful you are
You could made do and mend, perhaps using the blade of a spade would make the door card removal easy, but some folk out there do it for a living and do it the professional way.

Would you be happy if you saw me using an old screw driver to pry off the door panels of your truck?

I do totally take your point there are tools that are a waste of money but for me comes down to pride in the job, I get more out of the job if i know its done right as Steve said the tool he recommended is peanuts and will last a lifetime, the tools i recommended were used again today to remove the roof lining from an connect.

Sometimes i think its about pride over ingenuity.
