As regards listing any modifications to insurers, where do you stop - roof bars, mudflaps etc etc.. I told my insurers that i had side-runners and they were fine about it - no loading, then I thought I'd best mention the A bar fitted to the bumper, pleading dumb I said its got some sort of tubular spotlight bracket! The girl eventually deduced what it was and said they cant cover me unless I could prove it was a genuine LR part fitted when it left the factory, well how could i do this on a secondhand vehicle? They said only if it was genuine LR they would insure me but an extra £90odd on the premium and extra £300 excess . I got back to the dealers and they spoke to the ins.comp direct and blagged it for me
But if my truck was fitted with various underbody guards when i bought it, how would i know that they werent standard equipment and i never even noticed them Tyres for instance, what are they supposed to be? Hi Guys
Just to add my two pence worth as i work in the industry (albet the commercial broker relations side) most of the well known car insurance specialists are just call centres employing younger people who can only read what is on the screen hence the computers says no mentality. I use the NFU office in Flimwell, East Sussex 01580 878 105 for both our 90 and D3. Michele is the co Director there and used to race Land Rovers so knows her Alisports from her Jeramy Fearns. I have been with them for 12 years now and happy to stay as i have no patience talking to a 21 year old living at home with their parents and have no real world experience apart from insurering their own pimped up Ford Fiesta. Interesting, as I am struggling to get any comeback from my local NFU about insurance or the 5% discount off a Landrover. I keep having to ring up and am always told someone will be in touch...been mucking about for nearly two weeks now. 2011 110 USW
