Hello,
I have just installed an Alpine SWE-1200 Subwoofer and installed a HU Alpine CD 136BT with DAB feature. I would like to improve the sound system, the current speakers lack bass and don't sound nice on high volume (treble). What speakers would you recommend that are components and incorporate into the oem size fittings. Both from and rear ? I have heard about Hertz and Focal ? 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition |

You won't need an Amp for that size. Will come back to this thread tomorrow, rather late now, off to bed.

An amp is not necessary for 4inch speakers. However, if you want a good sound without distotrion I would recommend it.
The amp does not have to be powerful, but if you want the sound to be loud with its mids and highs played without any distortion, I would get an amp of about 100 -150 rms to put on the speakers, anymore and you risk blowing standard speakers. One of the anomalies with ‘good’ speakers is that no matter how good your head unit is you will never get the true quality sound from them without an amplifier. A lot of people spend a great deal of money on quality speakers and then just fit them to their head unit thinking because they are expensive speakers the sound will be excellent, that is not the case if you are not going to amp your expensive speakers you may as well just buy decent cheap speakers. |

I would recommend this
Zapco Dc200.2 DC Series 200w RMS 2-Channel Amplifier w/ On-Board Digital Processing you could if you wish leave the rears unamplified and just use the fader control on them to balance the sound |
