As a matter of interest, why would you want to?

Can be done. Simply disconnect plug on top of transfer box.... much better

I don't understand why you want to do it as I think it's the only improvement from an td5.
![]() But yes by disconnecting the plug the ecu doesn't know you are in low gear so will not use the anti stall mode. You can't do this anymore then: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jhuKLrjJLg&feature=related just after 1 minute Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |

It won't affect the anti-stall at all, just the idle jack, which is a totally different and independent thing.
Idle jack is a safety feature to prevent you coming a cropper on very steep descents, where the very low 1st or reverse gear will cause loss of traction. I have to admit I still don't understand why anyone would want to disable it, but the method described above will do just that. |
