I have been following this thread with interest.
Can anyone recommend an aftermarket single DIN DAB radio with Bluetooth/MP3/USB/AUX capability that could just slot in to replace the 2013 XS radio/CD? Ideally, I can then just extract the LR one and plug in the replacement since I don't do electrics At the moment, I am using DAB via the AUX cable so I don't get the benefit of the subwoofer. 1970 Series 2A 88" |

Tony - Yep, a single female ISO plug.
Most people have the opposite issue if the have a new Defender, they find the have the female LR plug present (which you HU is designed to fit) And they want to fit a HU with ISO plug on it, so then they need the adaptor. Of course, I guess you could always sell your new HU and get another aftermarket one. A Kenwood would fit nicely, straight in, easy as pie. |

Luke - First you want to check to see what loom you have, ISO or LR specific. I think post 2012 is specific and non ISO but do check.
If ISO then any aftermarket HU will slot straight in, if specific just get the adaptor and bobs your uncle slots in again. Determine if you need a single DIN radio cage too for security's sake and to keep it secure or it'll move about if not slide out! |

Could well work, if not you could always return anyway. Try it, might be the easiest option if it works okay.

The lead that I bought from Ebay worked a treat. Stereo is all fitted and working as it should.
Cheers Steve for all your input Hopefully this thread will assist others who find themselves in a similar position. |
