Liking the black 90 and soft dash , nice idea for a thread. Be good to see what people have had, heres my lot in order.
restored on a galvanized chassic with a respray. was a great first car which I learnt to drive in and had much fun. Would love to know what happened to it after i sold it to huddersfield land rover centre Click image to enlarge 2002 td5 90 csw. Good car but not enough space for me and never really bonded Click image to enlarge Best car ive ever owned 2005 110 xs sold to zero gravitas on here but would have it back in a heartbeat, only sold as was worried using it increasingly for work and didnt want to damage it. (nice photo spoilt by me not shutting the bonnet properly) Click image to enlarge. 2011 90 I put a soft top on. Ideal for me with how I use it and the most practical. Sold to get one the right colour Click image to enlarge The current keeper 2011 90 nearly ideal for me and pretty much a modern full circle. Id consider another black 110 td5 when needs arise though, but this is a long term keeper as only had the others a year each Defender puma dormobile camper |

Been on and off for the past three years Normally from a fast car to land and repeat.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Thats where it all started. The learning curve was quite steep and it got used a lot off road. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Then after 6 months with the first one i replaced it with this. Continued to do a lot of off roading and practise driving skills. After a year without one i got the itch again. Best all rounder so far. I've only had 2 previously
The last one was a failed 88" hybrid project that I bought and basically rebuilt from the ground up so that the only original parts left were the chassis and body Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge and my first was a fantastic 300TDi that I bought for a bit of weekend fun - but it ended up being my daily driver. I spent a fortune on it over the years but it was costing too much to keep going. I should have looked after it better but I was young, dumb and was too rough with it Click image to enlarge |

It took a while till I was courageous enough to buy my first Defender:
From 2006 D3 (sorry, only pic I shot): Click image to enlarge over 1993 RRC LSE: Click image to enlarge to 2010 Defender Black Pearl (30 vehicles limited edition for Germany), had her for three years: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Currently no Defender on the driveway, hope this situation won't last too long! My first 4x4:
Sorry but before digital age. Shows my age probably. Click image to enlarge My first Landy; An early one from occober 1984 Later rebuild on new chassis with a V8: Click image to enlarge I should have kept that one. But it was replaced by my most practical landy ever: Click image to enlarge It's now in the Dutch Camel Trophy museum. This one is replaced with it's succesor: Click image to enlarge And because my wife didn't like that I used the G4 off-road I had to buy an 90 again: Click image to enlarge It is now road legal again so seldom a trailler baby now. But it gets used. my defender history is relatively short and sadly i have to admit i don't currently own one. I'm totally, worryingly, addicted to this site though and am planning in my head my next 90. Tom's soft top keswick 90 is making me want to spend a lot of money i don't have!
my first landy - 90 tdi - loved it Click image to enlarge my second was a double cab which is in my opinion the best combination of practicality - 5 proper seats without the misery of the load in the back falling over you when you hit the brakes! Regretted selling this one the second it drove off my driveway... Click image to enlarge |

You did indeed mate it's one of six produced for military sales drive. It's a v8 but in the book by James taylor he says it's a diesel... Terry |
