Hello bigscoth
Really Nice. I pass a RRSport in Bali Blue close to where I live and really like this colour, It's easy to see why there could be confusion with yours, at first glance it looks very similar, (although you would hope someone would remember what paint they put through the gun! ) What colour was it before? What does it say on the V5C? I have the more 'standard' Stornoway Grey, which I like, but when that strange yellow ball in the sky makes an appearance this type of Blue looks just great. I also like that someone looks ready for action... SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

I've never spent long in a soft top defender but had been told by others they are less echoey than a hard top. Sounds like your experience is that it is much loader! Have you got headlining etc in the hardtop? www.td5.org

That looks great im sure i saw it when it was for sale, the timing would be about right too. Shame you couldn't get on with the soft top as looked great but know first hand the anti sleeping at the wheel device soft tops also come with for motorway travel! Looks fab as a hard top though Defender puma dormobile camper

I think that because it was a motorway trip and I was trying to do 50mph+ that the flapping, wind and road noise made it really hard work. It's a shame as the soft top is really good and the sides and back can be rolled up really quickly to make a lovely summer drive. The hard top has adhesive sound deadening and a headliner, no interior side panels yet. Seriously fallen for the masai panoramic glass so I think that'll be the next thing. |

On pictures they look so similar but in the flesh there's lots more black metal in the Bali Blue and dries a lot more 'purple' than blue. There are still bits of the original blue paint here and there so there hasn't had to be colour change recorded. Not sure of the OE colour name though. I really like Stornaway...it would be high on my list of choices. That's Ash...he's a good boy. |
