Shameless Selfies
Bought this in December and it's my pride and joy. 46,000 miles and never been off road.

Exmoor soft top has been replaced following a motorway journey that ended with 2 day tinnitus !! Met black hard top and rear half door replaced with a safari door sprayed in same body colour.
Central console sprayed in body colour at the same time as a small repair was being.

Had a nightmare colour matching as I was told it's Range Rover Bali Blue, but is actually Ford Imperial Blue form the original RS Focus.
Most things have been done so it's only tinkering really.
Sound deadening of the interior. I think most of the noise comes from the engine bay so will address the lack of deadening behind the dash and bonnet.
Front speakers replaced with 'theloudest.com' 4inch components, which have surprised me with how good they are for £25. Mounted the tweeters on the A Pillar, screwing through the back of the pod into the trim and then pillar. And 6x9's currently in enclosures behind rear bulk head. Much better but not good enough yet.
Sony head unit is going next as it's rubbish and will replace with alpine mechless unit. 6x9s and 8 inch sub going into an enclosure that I'm building that will sit behind the rear bulk head, scratching head about location of amp.

Hello bigscoth

Really Nice. Thumbs Up

I pass a RRSport in Bali Blue close to where I live and really like this colour,
It's easy to see why there could be confusion with yours, at first glance it looks very similar,
(although you would hope someone would remember what paint they put through the gun! Rolling Eyes )

What colour was it before? What does it say on the V5C?

I have the more 'standard' Stornoway Grey, which I like, but when that strange yellow ball
in the sky makes an appearance this type of Blue looks just great.

I also like that someone looks ready for action... Dog

I've never spent long in a soft top defender but had been told by others they are less echoey than a hard top. Sounds like your experience is that it is much loader! Have you got headlining etc in the hardtop? www.td5.org

That looks great im sure i saw it when it was for sale, the timing would be about right too. Shame you couldn't get on with the soft top as looked great but know first hand the anti sleeping at the wheel device soft tops also come with for motorway travel! Looks fab as a hard top though Very Happy Defender puma dormobile camper

I think that because it was a motorway trip and I was trying to do 50mph+ that the flapping, wind and road noise made it really hard work. It's a shame as the soft top is really good and the sides and back can be rolled up really quickly to make a lovely summer drive.
The hard top has adhesive sound deadening and a headliner, no interior side panels yet.
Seriously fallen for the masai panoramic glass so I think that'll be the next thing.

On pictures they look so similar but in the flesh there's lots more black metal in the Bali Blue and dries a lot more 'purple' than blue.
There are still bits of the original blue paint here and there so there hasn't had to be colour change recorded. Not sure of the OE colour name though.

I really like Stornaway...it would be high on my list of choices.

That's Ash...he's a good boy.
