Water shedders for doors
The doors on my 110 Puma were replaced after being stolen, and my carpet has been permanently soakng ever since I got the vehicle back from the bodyshop. I've finally taken one of the door cards off for a look and, as I suspected, there isn't a water shedder (plastic membrane) in the door, and I assume the other doors are the same.

I'd be grateful if someone can confirm that Puma defenders do have water shedders (I think I know the answer, but thought I'd check) and if so, what the part numbers are? I guess could get he bodyshop to fix it, but they were so unbelievably poor that I'd be uncertain what other damage they might do.

Cheers

Mike

Yes there on all new cars . I as many have done , have taken off to soundproof the inside of door and simply re - applied to the mastic around the frame.
Why don't you simply cut your own thick membrane and mastic around the frame ?

I see what you mean Keith but why can't the dealers bodyshop do a proper job, after all that's what they are paid for ... Mike - I'd be straight onto the body shop (who will probably have given a 3 year or lifetime guarantee) - shoddy that's what it is .. they did not expect you to look inside the door - how wrong they are Evil or Very Mad

also make sure they have put the rubber door seals on too

Thanks for the replies. I prefer to do it myself to be honest, since it took them nearly 2 months to sort the doors out, and even then it had to be returned to sort out problems.

If anyone has the relevant part numbers, I'd be grateful, otherwise I'll think about how best I can bodge something with some mastic and plastic sheet.

Cheers

Mike
